Real Life: I Graduated! :D

December 7th 2016 is a day that I hope that my future brightens up for me. It was the day that I managed to complete a course from start to finish without any mishaps and gain a full qualification, the first time in over a year that this has happened. This qualification was a four week long venture involving a lot of travelling, getting outdoors and trying out new things while at the same time developing my social skills.

It’s nice to end 2016 on a somewhat good note, getting the Arts Award in Photography I feel was the right decision to make seeing I wasn’t doing very much other than staying around at home and remembering everything that I didn’t want to think about. Since the moving on from College, I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. I am independent, a feeling that I craved a lot since the age of fifteen and more grown-up without the hassles of classes anymore. After I referred myself to a local youth service in my area, I’m seeing an advisor regularly who helps me with trying to get onto courses suited to my interests. It was on the day of my first ever meeting with her that she referred me onto the Photography Arts Award in a different city to where I live. The commuting at times was difficult but I was still on time for all of the classes only missing one day due to general sickness.

Photography is a hobby that I’ve been very passionate about since the age of ten after I received a camera as a Christmas present. I loved to take photos of everything and anything close to me, the birds that caught my eye or special moments such as someone blowing out candles on a birthday cake. Studying it was going to be tough for a four week timeframe but it worked out nicely with one of my photos going up on display for people to see when they are sat there in the café drinking coffee in the morning. 🙂

The amazing part was that I got invited back to do two further courses with them although not in Photography. I am still considering the one starting in January but I’m definitely doing the one after the February half-term which is Music. I have studied music before as a drummer but my old school tried to turn me into a pianist which although I have total respect for the instrument, piano playing isn’t my forte. But I hope to be sat on a drum kit again very soon!

That’s it for this post, thanks so much guys for reading. If you’ve finished school/college/university recently, feel free to comment down below. I would love to hear from you.
